VCSF donated over $22,000 in 2019

Congratulations to all our grant recipients.

2019 Little Big Idea Winners (Under $1,000)

$600 was awarded to the Village of Voorheesville to install solar lighting for a dozen Village of Voorheesville entrance signs. The little big idea was submitted by Voorheesville Elementary School student Gabriella Curley. What a bright idea!

$500 was awarded to the Voorheesville Middle School for a new Blackbird Mentor program which pairs Juniors and Seniors in the high school with middle school students who may be struggling academically or socially. The application was submitted by staff in the middle school and high school and the grant money will be used to purchase games, fund activities, or applied toward other needs of the program. We can't wait to watch this program grow and succeed!

2019 Big Idea Winners (Over $1,000):

$5,000 was awarded to the Town of New Scotland for improvements to the lower baseball field at the Stephen P. Wallace Park on Swift Rd, including the installation of bleachers. The grant was submitted by the Voorheesville Baseball Club. VCSF says play ball!

$10,000 was awarded to the Village of Voorheesville to initiate a project to improve the Tork's Hill recreational area across from the Voorheesville Elementary School, including the addition of an amphitheater for community events and a parking lot.
